The standard ladies dress orthosis is an Ultra-lite shell with an in-cast heel modification to create a flat dish shape rather than a heel cup. Ladies dress orthosis are thin at the base of the fifth metatarsal allowing the device to arc over the shank of the shoes. The standard snow ski orthosis is a White Poly Standard fabricated more narrow to fit the ski boot. The heel post is flat for stability and the device is covered with a full length Plastazote cover. Please enclose a typical pair of the patient’s ski boots to insure a proper boot fit .
The standard skate orthosis is a White Poly Econoline fabricated more narrow to fit the patient’s ice or roller skate. Please enclose a typical pair of the patient’s skates to insure a proper fit.
The standard bicycle orthosis is a White Poly Econoline fabricated more narrow to fit the patient’s bicycle shoes. The orthosis shell can be extended to the end of the toes which promotes stability for the patient. Please indicate this addition, if desired, in the special instruction section of the order form. Please enclose a typical pair of the patient’s bike shoes to insure a proper fit.
Bunion Shields are available according to your patient’s requirement. It is important to extend your negative cast well past the site of desired accommodation. Also, please clearly mark the area to be accommodated.
Save or Return casts: If you do not mark one of these selections, the lab will save the casts for a period of six months.
